Art Nouveau Style Chest for Sale
A swell front three drawer chest with large scale relief carving reminiscent of Art Noveau era designs. Note how the scrolling floral design extends across the frame and drawer fronts. Standing on short cabriole legs with a detailed bottom rail.
We finished this chest with a dove grey base color. The detail is accented with a chocolate glaze that we brushed and hand rubbed to give a shadowed transition. A satin clear top finish gives a subtle gleam without any bright glare. The solid brass hardware is also glazed and rubbed.
The drawers on this chest are rather heavy for everyday use as a dressing piece. It would serve nicely as a foyer or hallway piece or as an accent furnishing under a mirror or artwork.
